Account Director jobs - IT Sales - UK

A prominent player in multi-disciplinary technology sales is looking to further it's ambitious growth plans and goal to disrupt its marketplace. To achieve this they have a number of newly created Account Director positions available for experienced tech sales pro's to join them on their journey to IPO. 

The company is on a transformation journey to offer it's salesforce the best in class toolkit of technologies to provide all your prospect's needs to the highest levels and at the best price. With this approach, they are looking to take large chunks of market share and beat out competitors. 

You will play an instrumental part of this growth journey by pro-actively prospecting and closing new high spending accounts across all of the core technology pillars: infrastructure, data center, storage, modern workplace, managed services, software and licenses. The Account Director role is a trusted advisor and sales consultant for IT solutions and services to businesses in the UK with 20-20,000+ employees. You will use your knowledge of the VAR market alongside a passion for new business to protectively prospect and close new customers. The successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve your financial targets, build relationships and understand customer trends.

Key features of the role:

  • Owning, hitting and ideally exceeding annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts. 

  • Developing and executing a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand your customer base. 

  • Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

  • Partnering with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.

  • Effectively communicating the value proposition by calling and meeting with prospects.

  • Understanding category-specific landscapes and trends. 

  • Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.

What you should bring to be successful: 

  • Proven sales executive experience in the reseller world, meeting or exceeding targets.

  • The ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.

  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.

  • Proven ability to position products against competitors. 

  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions.

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
