Data Engineer
Opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer to join a world-leading software technology business, located in Manchester.
Working closely with members of the analytics & AI team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining optimal performance across the data pipeline including the integration of machine learning models.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain an optimal data pipeline architecture
Assemble large, complex data sets to fulfill requirements across Data Science and Analytics teams
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: optimizing data delivery, testing and enabling scalability
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL/Python and AWS technologies
Build analytical tools to enable KPI monitoring of the data pipeline and machine learning model performance
Work with stakeholders including the Product, Development and Professional Services teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
Create data tools for the Data Science and Analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product to further enhance our position as a leader in digital adoption analytics.
Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
Produce high-quality documentation of software design
Core Competences
Strong SQL skills particularly in relation to building high performing data-models in AWS Redshift
Experience with big data transformation across AWS technologies (Kinesis-S3-Redshift)
Experience using Python/Scala/R
Experience of working in agile teams and using code versioning systems
Experience performing root cause analysis to answer specific business questions and identify improvements
Exposure to designing API driven data services
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI Service
Motivated to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly with Product and Development team members
