​Staff Accountant - Zurich - 90,000CHF + Bonus

The Role:

• Acting as the main liaison between the internal accounts department and an external accounting firm.

• Work closely with accounting teams to ensure correct journal entries are booked at month-end.

• Assisting with preparation of monthly financial reporting packags.

• Executing mid-level general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification, enabling the finance team to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives.

• Partner with local accounting team to implement proactive collections processes.

• Monitoring policies and procedures for assigned departments, and identify and suggest improvements for accounting reporting and recording procedures.

• Complying with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance.

• Work closely with leadership on ad-hoc reporting and analytical projects.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience as a staff accountant

• Work experience in audit accounting required.

• Prior experience with managing and responding to audit requests.

• Solid understanding of US and Swiss GAAP accounting, intercompany transactions, revenue recognition and AP/AR processes.

• Familiarity with Abacus accounting software desired.

• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/requests simultaneously under time constraints while meeting deadlines in a professional manner.

• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate accounting concepts to non-accounting staff.

• English and German business proficiency (written and spoken) and respective business acumen.
