Cancer charity Edgar’s Gift will be the recipient of Finlay James Associates’ fundraising efforts over the next year.
A supporter of young adults suffering from cancer, Edgar’s Gift aims to ease the trauma of treatment by providing memorable gifts and experiences.
The charity has previously provided cancer patients with VIP football experiences at grounds around the country and given iPads to sufferers so they can stay in touch with family and friends while in hospital.
Edgar’s Gift has poignant significance for Finlay James as the charity was established in memory of Ben Edkins, a close friend of company associate director Richard Gibbard.
Ben’s father Neil Bradman said: “Edgar's Gift is a charity set up in April 2010 after the loss of Ben to cancer - he was only 25 years-old.
“The charity supports cancer patients between the ages of 18 and 30 by raising money to provide wishes in the form of experiences and gifts.
“After the charity was brought to the Finlay James’ attention by Ben's close friend Richard they decided to become supporters of the charity. Edgar's Gift is really lucky to have a great set of patron's and we are pleased to include Finlay James amongst them.”
Finlay James has previously raised thousands of pounds for charities by encouraging employees to take part in fundraising events, which have included fancy dress events and growing facial hair during ‘Movember’.
John Gaughan, managing director, said: “Edgar’s Gift clearly is a worthy cause that means a lot to our associate director Richard Gibbard so we are happy to get involved. I look forward to participating in upcoming charity events whereby the proceeds go to Edgar’s Gift.”
