Following my graduation from the University of Central Lancashire in 2008 I spent a couple of years in retail management before deciding to move into the more fast-paced recruitment industry in 2011. I spent eighteen months with a high street recruiter specialising in sales recruitment across a host of different industries.
It was at the end of 2012 that I decided to move into a more specialised form of recruitment, still in sales but combined with the IT industry. Finlay James seemed like the obvious choice for me, the perfect environment for any aspiring young professional. I joined Finlay James as an Executive Search Consultant working in a challenging, yet rewarding, 360 degree role. This means I generate new business opportunities while also being responsible for placing senior candidates in to software, SaaS, marketing, digital and IT services companies.
At the end of 2014 I was promoted to Managing Consultant, still working in a 360 role carrying my own revenue target, but alongside managing a team of four consultants. Since then I have built numerous successful teams within Finlay James working on UK, European and US-based opportunities and in doing so, building up a comprehensive network of client and candidates across the globe.
During my time here, Finlay James has grown from strength to strength opening two more offices in London and San Francisco to add the three UK offices. With bigger plans in place for the coming years it will be exciting to see where it takes us and I’m looking forward to being part of the journey.
